(A) A credit deposit shall be deposited with the Village Treasurer in the amount of $100, except that the Public Works Director or his or her designee shall have the option to require a larger amount equivalent to 300% of the average bi-monthly water bill in certain cases and may, in his or her discretion, take into account the historical payment record of the user with the village or the record furnished by any credit reporting agency or firm.
(B) The credit deposit shall be retained, without interest thereon, by the village to insure payment of all water bills and charges.
(C) When water service is disconnected, this deposit, less any sum due the village for water services or other services provided, shall be refunded to the applicant.
