§ 50.03 WATER USE NOT TRIBUTARY TO THE SEWER SYSTEM; METER INSTALLATION AND BILLING.
   (A)   A water and sewer customer may rent a water meter from the Water Department for the purpose of measuring water used not tributary to the sanitary sewer system after completing an application for a separate meter and payment of a meter deposit.
   (B)   The water and sewer customer desiring such service must apply to have a deduct water meter annually in the spring of each year by May first.
   (C)   Upon obtaining a meter from the Water Department the water and sewer customer shall install the water meter at a location outside of the building after the required RPZ (Reverse Pressure Zone check valve) and notify the Water Department the meter installation is ready for an inspection and set up of the meter for radio reading of the water used. The installation must be performed by a plumber licensed with the state.
   (D)   The Water Department will bill for the amount of sewer used based on the amount of water recorded at the water customers main meter less the amount of water recorded at the exterior installed meter.
   (E)   A water and sewer customer requesting a meter to measure water used not tributary to the sanitary sewer system shall be charged the following fees:
      Meter deposit            $250.00
      Meter rental fee         $25.00 / per month *
      Meter inspection and start-up fee   $50.00 / annually
   * The monthly meter rental fee shall be payable on the water bill. The monthly meter rental fee shall not be prorated. The monthly fee shall apply so long as the customer is participating in the program as of the first day of the month. The meter deposit shall be refunded to the customer upon the return of the meter in good working condition. The cost of repair or replacement of the meter or any amount due and owing for water service shall be deducted from the meter deposit.
   (F)   The water and sewer customer shall use the water metered as provided herein for outdoor uses only. In the event the water and sewer customer uses the water for indoor purposes or violates any other provision of this section or fails to pay any fee in a timely manner, the village shall have the right to enter upon the property and disconnect the meter and keep the meter deposit.
