(A) All persons employed as a firefighter shall be physically capable of carrying out the duties of a firefighter and shall submit to a physical examination to determine their physical fitness upon the orders of the Village Mayor, Village Board or the Fire Chief. The physical examination shall be at the expense of the village and shall be made by a doctor selected by the authority directing the examination.
(B) Any firefighter directed to undergo a physical fitness examination shall be temporarily suspended from active duty as a firefighter until the examination is had and a favorable result had from the examination, the examination to be held within 15 days of the suspension.
