(A) Firefighters, including officers of the Department, shall receive such compensation as shall be determined by the Village Board from time to time or in the village’s annual appropriation ordinance.
(B) Compensation shall also include any payments paid by the Fire Department or the village towards any death benefit and/or retirement fund. The village shall pay on behalf of its firefighters all assessments and moneys required to secure the pension and death benefits available through the County Firemen’s Association.
