There is hereby established a Volunteer Fire Department consisting of three engine companies to be known as the “Liberty Engine Company”, the “Alert Engine Company” and the “Vigilant Engine Company”; one ladder company to be known as the “Hook and Ladder Company” and one company to be known as the “Emergency Squad”, the latter of which shall be composed of citizens residing within the corporate limits of the City of Martins Ferry. The locations of the Companies and the Emergency Squad shall be determined by Council.
