The Director of Public Service/Safety is hereby authorized to employ, at any one time, no more than twelve (12) auxiliary police, in accordance with Ohio R.C. 737.051. The employment of said auxiliary police shall be for emergency purposes only, to be determined by the Director of Public Service/Safety. Members of the auxiliary police unit are not eligible for membership in the Police and Firemen’s Disability and Pension Fund. Members of the auxiliary police unit shall not be in the classified service of the Municipality.
