Adult uses shall be permitted only in the area of Martinsburg defined by the following boundaries: That district known as the BD District as shown and defined by the City of Martinsburg Zoning Map and Ordinance, subject to the following exceptions:
(a) No adult uses shall be allowed within 300 feet of any pre-existing church or other place of public worship, public or private elementary or secondary schools, or to a city or public park or playground.
(b) No adult uses shall be allowed on either side of Queen Street from its intersection with Stephen Street running in a northerly direction to the intersection of Queen Street and Exchange Place.
(c) No adult uses shall be allowed on either side of Race Street, Martin Street, Burke Street, King Street, John Street and Stephen Street between Maple Avenue and Spring Street.
(d) Adult use businesses licensed by the City of Martinsburg prior to the adoption of this chapter and located within an area prohibited by this chapter may remain at their present location while such business is owned by the same person owning such business at the date of the adoption of this article. Cessation of operation of an adult use business for a period of one month or more at a location prohibited by this section shall automatically terminate the right of a person, corporation, partnership, or any other type of business entity to operate an adult use business within the area prohibited by this section.
