505.08 KILLING ANIMALS.
   If any person maliciously administers poison to, or exposes it with intent that it should be taken by any animal of another person, or if any person maliciously maims, kills or causes the death of any animal of another person, of the value of less than fifty dollars ($50.00), he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in jail not more than thirty days and fined not more than fifty dollars ($50.00), in the discretion of the court; provided, that this section shall not be construed to include dogs.
