(a) Council may, by regulation, provide for the issuance of permits to be used in lieu of deposit of lawful coins in parking meters. Such permit may be issued on a monthly basis upon payment of a permit charge. Usage of these permits shall be restricted to areas designated by Council. When vehicles are parked in parking meter zones pursuant to such a permit, the applicable provisions of this article relative to parking in parking meter zones shall be complied with. (b) Permits for parking meters shall be issued to persons residing where metered on- street parking is in effect at the rate of six dollars ($6.00) per month. Parking meter permits issued to all other persons shall be at the rate of twenty dollars ($20.00) per month. All permits shall be issued at City Hall by the City Recorder or his/her designee, upon payment of the designated charge. (Ord. 2008-25. Passed 7-29-08.)
