On the conduct of production of theatrical performances or shows, there is hereby imposed a fee at the rate of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day; but this fee shall not apply to theatres and moving picture houses regularly and continuously operated. This fee shall not be imposed upon theatrical performances given for the benefit of religious or charitable purposes or amateur performances.
