Any law enforcement officer is charged with the responsibility of enforcing this chapter. A child found to be in violation of this chapter shall be issued a citation which shall then be administered by the Ordinance Violation Bureau of the County Clerk’s office. In addition, a child found in violation of this chapter shall immediately be taken into the temporary custody of the law enforcement officer, who shall then notify the child’s parent, guardian or custodian. Temporary custody of the child shall remain with the law enforcement officer until the child is surrendered to the child’s parent, guardian or custodian, or to an adult specified by the child’s parent, guardian or custodian, or until 5:00 a.m., whichever occurs first.
