For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
HORSE-DRAWN VEHICLE. A buggy, carriage, dray, wagon or trailer towed behind a horse-drawn or non-motorized vehicle, or other conveyance on wheels, used for the purpose of transporting chattels or persons which generally uses one or more horse(s) as its source of power.
FIELD WAGONS. Wagons used principally for field work and not typically used in the conveyance of persons or commodities on the roads. As such, they shall be specifically exempt from the definition of horse-drawn vehicle, as described above.
OWNER OF A HORSE-DRAWN VEHICLE. Any individual, firm, corporation or association that owns, rents, leases or has exclusive use of a horse-drawn vehicle for a period of at least 30 days in any calendar year.
RESIDENT OF THE COUNTY. A person who has his or her principal place of residence in Marshall County, Indiana, or who owns or operates a business within said county.
