§ 34.28 DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION, COPIES OF POLICE REPORTS AND FINGER PRINTING.
   (A)   No officer shall disseminate information to the public regarding official business of the Police Department, unless given direct authority to do so from the Chief of Police. This shall include, but not be limited to, press releases, requests for police record checks, and the like. Announcements of upcoming programs sponsored by this Department are excluded from this prohibition.
   (B)   Any citizen may request a copy of a police report. Reports shall be available Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The requester shall be charged a fee of $.25 per page. All fees collected shall be delivered to the City Treasurer. No report shall be released concerning criminal offenses, ongoing investigations, the names or identities in any form of juveniles, the criminal histories of any person, or any other matter protected from disclosure under Illinois law. The fee may be waived for requests made by other law enforcement agencies, pursuant to subpoena or by order of a court.
   (C)   Any private citizen who wishes to have their finger prints taken by the Marseilles Police Department may do so. Fingerprinting shall be made available Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The requester will provide the applicable fingerprint(s) and will be charged a fee of $5 per card. All fees collected shall be delivered to the City Treasurer.
