(A) No person except members of the Department of Streets and Public Improvements of the city, or officers of employees of the Water and Sewer Department acting in the regular performance of their duties, shall open any hydrant belonging to the department at any time without a permit in writing signed by the Commissioner of Public Property.
(B) Any person or entity wishing to purchase water in bulk from the city by tapping directly into a hydrant shall be required to make application to the city for this service. A charge of $30 shall include a hook up to a city water meter, a water shut off valve and up to 150 feet of water hose. There shall also be the usual water service charge, based on the city’s current water and sewer rate for every 100 gallons of water used. Use of city fire hydrants shall only be permitted on city business days between 7:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
