(A) The building sewer shall be cast iron soil pipe; vitrified clay sewer pipe; PVC pipe or equal; or other suitable material approved by the City Council. Joints shall be gas-tight, water-tight and root-proof. If installed in filled or unstable ground, the building sewer shall be laid on a suitable concrete bed or cradle as approved by the Engineer.
(B) All joints and connections shall be made gas-tight and water-tight and root-proof. Other jointly materials and methods may be used only by approval of the Engineer.
