(A) Definition. For purposes of this section the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
WELLHEAD PROTECTION AREA. The surface and subsurface area surrounding the public water supply well or wellfield, supplying a public water supply system, through which contaminants are reasonably likely to move toward and reach such water well or wellfield.
(B) Wellhead Protection Plan. The Village Board designates a Wellhead Protection Plan for the purpose of protecting the public water supply system. The boundaries of the Wellhead Protection Area were adopted in § 172.019(A)(3), based on the Wellhead Protection Area Map drawn by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality in September 2004.
