(a) The intrusion of nonregulated personal property sales, including but not limited to garage or yard sales, is causing annoyance to residents in residential and commercial areas in the Town and congestion of the streets in residential and commercial areas in the Town.
(b) The provisions contained in this article are intended to prohibit the infringement of any businesses in any established residential and commercial areas by regulating the term and frequency of garage sales or yard sales, so as not to disturb or disrupt the residential and commercial areas of the Town.
(c) The provisions of this article do not seek control of sales by individuals selling a few of their household or personal items.
(d) The provisions and prohibitions hereinafter contained are enacted not to prevent but to regulate yard sales, garage sales or personal property sales for the safety and welfare of the Town’s residents. (Passed 10-24-07.)
