(a) Any person who is at least eighteen years of age and will have continuously resided in the corporate limits of the City of Marmet for at least thirty days prior to the date of election shall be eligible to run for and hold such office.
(b) Eligibility to run for or hold such office shall lapse and terminate in the event any candidate or office holder shall establish a residency outside the corporate limits. In the case of an office holder, a vacancy is created in the office which shall be filled by appointment of the Mayor with the majority approval of the City Council.
