A. Adoption By Reference: The particular model codes listed below, as adopted and amended by the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission (the "OUBCC") in the Oklahoma State Statutes and Oklahoma Administrative Code, are hereby adopted and incorporated in this code, as if fully set out at length herein, for the purpose of establishing rules and regulations for the following activities carried on within the corporate limits of the City of Marlow, Oklahoma:
1. Building Code: The construction, alteration, removal, demolition, equipment, use, occupancy, location and maintenance of buildings and structures:
International Building Code (IBC), current edition, published by the International Code Council.
2. Existing Building Code: The repair, alteration, addition and change of occupancy for existing buildings and historic buildings:
International Existing Building Code (IEBC), current edition, published by the International Code Council.
3. Plumbing Code: The installation or alteration of plumbing and drainage systems for buildings and structures:
International Plumbing Code (IPC), current edition, published by the International Code Council.
4. Electrical Code: The installation or alteration of electrical equipment for buildings or structures:
National Electric Code (NEC), current edition, published by the National Fire Protection Association.
5. Housing Code: The provisions of basic, minimum housing standards for the preservation of the health, safety and welfare of occupants:
International Residential Code (IRC), current edition, published by the International Code Council.
6. Fire Prevention Code: The provision of basic safeguards to life and property from the hazards of fire and explosion:
International Fire Code (IFC), current edition, published by the International Code Council.
7. Gas Code: The installation or alteration of gas systems for buildings or structures:
International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), current edition, published by the International Code Council.
8. Energy Conservation Code: The provision of basic standards for energy conservation in buildings and structures:
International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), current edition, published by the International Code Council.
9. Mechanical Code: The provision of basic standards for mechanical installations in buildings and structures:
International Mechanical Code, current edition, published by the International Code Council.
10. Property Maintenance Code: The provision of basic standards governing the maintenance of existing buildings:
International Property Maintenance Code (IMC), current edition, published by the International Code Council.
B. Codes On File: Three (3) copies of all of the codes referenced in this section adopted by the city are on file in the office of the City Clerk-Treasurer.
C. Codes In Effect: From the date on which this chapter shall take effect, the provisions of the codes, as herein modified, shall be controlling in those areas set forth in section 9-1-2
E. of this chapter, within the corporate limits of the City of Marlow, Oklahoma.
D. Conflicts With City Code: Whenever any provision of any of those model construction codes adopted by this chapter conflict with this code, the latter provisions shall govern. (1985 Code § 4-5) (amd. Ord. 426, 11-27-2018)
