The city adopts the International Building Code with any amendments made thereof and the below amendments that are not in conflict with the International Building Code:
(A) All furnaces, air conditioners and coils must have easy access for servicing;
(B) Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are mandatory;
(C) Furnace location, BTUs and efficiency;
(D) Air conditioner location, BTUs and SHEER;
(E) At least one supply and return grill in every room, except the kitchen and bathroom: six-inch pipe or larger to each opening;
(F) Exhaust fan in bath to be vented to the outside;
(G) Kitchen exhaust fan for the hood to be vented to the outside;
(H) Any ductwork in the attic to be insulated with one-inch fiberglass duct wrap:
(1) R-rating 6 or better;
(2) No bubble wrap; and
(3) Five feet of Flex Duct is allowed.
(I) Hi-efficiency furnace to be vented and air intake to outside through roof or wall. Not more than 20 feet from outside wall to furnace;
(J) No common returns are allowed on furnace or air handler;
(K) Sprinkler head next to furnace and water heater:
(1) Fire damage, building rehab and new construction only; and
(2) Must use type L Copper water pipe.
(L) Floor drain near furnace and water heater;
(M) Furnace filter to have easy access. No doors or panels to remove filter;
(N) No furnace, boiler, water heater to be in the crawl space/attic;
(O) No joist or stud sheeting. Hard pipe or flex duct to all supply or return register openings; and
(P) (1) Permit fees:
