§ 92.24 TAGS TO BE ATTACHED TO COLLARS; DUPLICATE TAGS.
   (A)   (1)   The City Clerk shall, at the time of registration fee payment, deliver, as a receipt therefor to each person paying the fee, a metallic, fiber or other approved type of check, plate or tag having inscribed thereon the dog registration number and year of issuance in figures, for the purpose of signifying that the city dog fee is paid for the calendar year indicated. The keeper or possessor of any dog upon which the fee is paid shall place and keep around the neck of such dog a collar, to which shall be attached and kept the check, plate or tag so furnished by the Clerk and to which also will be attached and kept the rabies inoculation tag which is issued at the time of inoculation. The Clerk shall provide such checks, plates or tags in such manner and of such description as the City Council may direct.
      (2)   This section shall not apply to the dogs of non-residents of the city who are temporarily in the city for a period not to exceed 15 days, where the owner or keeper of such dog is known to the Clerk to be a non- resident and where the dogs are not permitted to run at-large or be exercised or trained within city limits.
      (3)   No person shall allow or cause a dog tag to be attached to any dog within the city if the dog tag has not been issued by the Clerk according to the provisions of this section.
   (B)   Any person who has previously registered a dog for which a tag has been issued may, if the tag is lost, secure a duplicate thereof by reporting such loss to the Clerk and paying the sum of $0.10 for a duplicate tag.
