§ 51.048 BANKRUPTCY FILINGS.
   (A)   Chapter 7. When a notice of filing is received from the Bankruptcy Court, the customer’s current account will be inactivated and assigned a bankruptcy status code. Payment of any scheduled amount owed will be stayed as of the date of the Chapter 7 filing. The water service fee under § 51.042 of this chapter will be credited to the pre-filing account balance. Any remainder will be refunded to the customer. If the stay is lifted or the case dismissed, then any amount owed at that time shall be the customer’s responsibility. A Chapter 7 account will be opened by using the first eight digits of the regular account number and adding “07” at the end. A customer must re-establish service pursuant to § 51.042(A) of this chapter within 14 calendar days of the Chapter 7 filing. If the customer fails to do so, water service will be subject to disconnection. Any amount owed after the date of filing will be the customer’s responsibility.
   (B)   Chapter 13. When a notice of filing is received from the Bankruptcy Court, the customer’s current account will be inactivated and assigned a bankruptcy status code. Payment of any scheduled amount owed will be stayed as of the date of the Chapter 13 filing. The water service fee under § 51.042(A) of this chapter will be credited to the pre-filing account balance. Any remainder will be refunded to the customer. A proof of claim listing the pre-filing amount owed will be filed by the city. If the stay is lifted or the case dismissed, then any amount owed at that time shall be the customer’s responsibility. A Chapter 13 account will be opened by using the first eight digits of the regular account number and adding “13” at the end. A customer must reestablish service pursuant to § 51.042(A) of this chapter within 14 calendar days of the Chapter 13 filing. If the customer fails to do so, water service will be subject to disconnection. Any amount owed after the date of filing will be the customer’s responsibility.
