§ 50.055 WHEN CITATION ISSUED.
   Whenever a police officer is authorized to arrest a person without warrant because of any violation of the provisions of this chapter, the police officer may, in lieu of the filing of a complaint in court, in the first instance issue to such alleged violator a citation, advising the person that he or she has violated a specified provisions of this chapter or any applicable ordinance requesting him or her to make payment in an amount applicable to the violation as set forth in § 50.058 of this chapter as settlement of the violation claim and informing him or her that, upon failure to so settle, a complaint will be filed in the Circuit Court of the county, charging him or her with such violation.
