1-2-4: SEVERABILITY CLAUSE:
If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this code, or any codes or portions of codes adopted herein by reference, is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or invalid or ineffective by any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity or effectiveness of the remaining portions of this code, or any codes or portions of codes adopted herein by reference. The city council hereby declares that it would have passed each section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, paragraphs, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared unconstitutional, invalid or ineffective. If for any reason, this code should be declared invalid or unconstitutional, then the original ordinance or ordinances shall be in full force and effect. (1977 Code § 1.01.110; amd. 2013 Code)
