12-3-5: SEWER SYSTEM:
   A.   Required: In every subdivision, provision shall be made for the satisfactory disposal of sanitary sewage. (1977 Code § 16.16.060)
   B.   Use Of City Sanitary Sewer System:
      1.   Where a city sanitary sewer main is accessible, the subdivision shall be provided with a complete sanitary sewage collection system connected to such sewer main. Such collection system shall be adequate in size to serve the area platted and/or the most advantages for future development of adjacent tracts. The entire system, including layout, construction plans, profiles and specifications, shall be designed to meet the approval, first, of the superintendent of the city sewer department, and second, the environmental protection agency.
      2.   All sewer mains in the collection system shall be subjected to either infiltration or exfiltration leakage tests for an uninterrupted period of twenty four (24) hours in the presence of the project inspector. The prescribed allowance for leakage must be met before the mains will be considered complete. The system shall not be put into use until approved for use by the superintendent of the city sewer department and the environmental protection agency. (1977 Code § 16.16.060; amd. 2013 Code)
      3.   The sewer collection system shall include a connection for each lot, extended from the main sewer to the lot line. The superintendent of the city sewer department shall be furnished with a complete and accurate record, by measurement, of the location of the point of intersection of the extended lot connection and the lot line, for a permanent record.    C.   Use Of Private System: Where a city sanitary sewer main is not accessible, proper provision shall be made for the collection and disposal of sanitary wastes, subject to the approval of the environmental protection agency, the Franklin and Williamson bi-county health department and the superintendent of the city sewer department.
