10-3-1: DEFINITIONS:
For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms and words shall have the meanings indicated in this section. The definitions contained in this section shall take precedence over any other accepted meanings, including those contained in any reference material referred to in this chapter.
PLUMBING: The practice, materials and fixtures used in the installation, maintenance, extension and alteration of all piping, fixtures, appliances and appurtenances in connection with any of the following: sanitary drainage or storm drainage facilities, the venting system and public or private water supply systems within or adjacent to any building, structure or conveyance; also, the practice and materials used in the installation, maintenance, extension or alteration of stormwater, liquid waste, or sewage, and water supply systems of any premises to their connection with any point of public disposal or other acceptable terminal.
PLUMBING FIXTURES: Installed receptacles, devices or appliances which are supplied with water or which receive or discharge liquids or liquidborne wastes with or without discharge into the drainage system with which they may be directly or indirectly connected.
PLUMBING SYSTEM: Includes the water supply and distribution pipes; plumbing fixtures and traps; soil, waste and vent pipes; building drains, including their respective connections, devices and appurtenances within the property lines of the premises; and water treating or water using equipment.
