ORDINANCE NO. 3924

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR THE CITY OF MARION, ILLINOIS FY YEAR 2023-2024

WHEREAS the Council of the City of Marion, Illinois, did on the 24th day of April, 2023 pass an annual Budget Ordinance for the said City for the 2023-2024 Fiscal year, Ordinance number 3880, and there was appropriated under general revenue for corporate purposes monies to be used for expenses related to city operations.

WHEREAS said Budget Ordinance was duly signed and approved, and duly recorded with the County Clerk of Williamson County on April 25, 2023, and published according to law.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARION:

a.   There is hereby levied upon all taxable property within the City of Marion corporate limits, a tax in the amount of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for the purpose of being added to the City General fund towards the general expenses appropriated; and

b.   The Municipal Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file in the office of the County Clerk of Williamson County, Illinois a duly certified copy of this Ordinance.
