§ 112.18 RATE CARD.
   (A)   Every taxicab shall carry in it, at all times, a rate card issued for the vehicle by the Mayor. The rate card shall contain, in legible type, the Mayor’s office address, name of the vehicle owner, class of vehicle, serial body number on the vehicle, the date of issuance, and the complete schedule or rates of fare used as filed with the Mayor. The rate card shall be mounted under transparent covering in the rear compartment or interior of the vehicle in such position that it may be read easily by an occupant of the vehicle.
   (B)   The driver of any auto-for-hire shall at all times carry a rate card issued for the vehicle by the Mayor. The card shall be exhibited to the hirer of the vehicle at any time demanded. The rate card shall contain in legible type, the Mayor’s office address, name of the vehicle owner, class of vehicle, date of issuance, rate of fare filed with the Mayor, and the provision that no passenger shall be carried for less than one-half-hour’s charge.
   (C)   Whenever a new schedule of rates becomes effective or whenever an auto-for-hire or taxicab license is transferred from owner to owner or from vehicle to vehicle, or whenever any of the information on the rate card becomes incorrect, the Mayor shall issue to the owner a new or corrected rate card.
   (D)   Rate cards shall not be altered or tampered with by any person. Whenever a rate card becomes damaged, soiled, or illegible, the owner shall request and the Mayor shall issue a new card for the vehicle. No fee shall be charged for the issuance of a new, corrected, or duplicate rate card when the old card is turned in to the Mayor.
   (E)   In case the rate card is lost, the owner shall file with the Mayor a sworn statement of the facts concerning the loss. If the Mayor is satisfied the facts justify issuance of a replacement rate card, the Mayor shall issue the replacement rate card on the payment of $0.50 which shall be turned over to the Village Fiscal Officer.
