§ 31.003 UNIFORMS.
   (A)   The Mayor is authorized to furnish a complete uniform for each person employed for Police and Fire Department service and the full-time maintenance employees when necessary. The uniforms shall at all times be the property of the village.
   (B)   When a new person is employed, the person shall be fitted, if possible, with uniforms owned by the village. When it is impossible to fit the person as herein provided, the Mayor is authorized to purchase additional units of uniform necessary to furnish the new person with a complete uniform.
   (C)   The Mayor is authorized to replace such items of uniform for all police officers and firefighters when replacement is necessary by reason of wear or accident.
   (D)   The provisions above shall apply only after the expiration of the probationary period unless there are not enough items of uniform to outfit a person from the village wardrobe.
   (E)   For the purposes of this section, a complete uniform shall consist of:
      (1)   Police officers:
         (a)   Protective body armor;
         (b)   One leather gun belt;
         (c)   One Sig Sauer .45 auto weapon;
         (d)   One leather holster;
         (e)   Two extra magazines;
         (f)   One leather magazine case;
         (g)   One can of chemical mace;
         (h)   One mace case;
         (i)   One set of handcuffs;
         (j)   One cuff holder;
         (k)   Four leather belt keepers;
         (1)   One pair of leather gloves;
         (m)   Five S/S shirts;
         (n)   Five L/S shirts;
         (o)   Four pairs of pants;
         (p)   One all-weather jacket;
         (q)   One summer hat;
         (r)   One winter hat;
         (s)   One hat badge;
         (t)   Two black clip-on ties;
         (u)   One rain coat;
         (v)   One pair of shoes/boots;
         (w)   One belt;
         (x)   Two badges; and
         (y)   One dress blouse (Chief and Lieutenant. only).
      (2)   Police Clerk:
         (a)   Four pairs of pants and/or skirts;
         (b)   Five shirts/blouses;
         (c)   One pair of shoes;
         (d)   One jacket; and
         (e)   One belt.
      (3)   Bike patrol unit:
         (a)   Two bike shirts;
         (b)   Two pairs of bike shorts;
         (c)   One pair compression shorts;
         (d)   One pair of shoes;
         (e)   One helmet; and
         (f)   One pair of gloves.
      (4)   Firefighters:
         (a)   Two pairs of trousers;
         (b)   One blouse (uniform);
         (c)   One car duty jacket;
         (d)   Dress caps, one winter and one summer;
         (e)   One car duty cap;
         (f)   Six shirts;
         (g)   Two black ties;
         (h)   One raincoat;
         (i)   Two pair boots;
         (j)   One light duty jacket;
         (k)   One pair coveralls;
         (1)   Collar and lapel brass; and
         (m)   One belt and one pair of shoes per year, if the Department head determines that they are necessary.
      (5)   Crossing guards:
         (a)   Two skirts;
         (b)   Three shirts;
         (c)   Two pairs of pants;
         (d)   One winter jacket;
         (e)   One pair of gloves;
         (f)   One cap;
         (g)   One raincoat;
         (h)   One pair of shoes; and
         (i)   One reflective vest.
      (6)   Maintenance employees:
         (a)   Three pairs of trousers;
         (b)   Three summer shirts; and
         (c)   Three winter shirts.
