§ 54.10 ROADWAY AND SIDEWALK WIDTHS.
   (A)   (1)   Where the roadway lines of a street have not been definitely marked by curbing or have not been otherwise specially established by Council, the parts allotted to roadways and sidewalks shall be determined as herein provided. The sidewalk spaces on each side shall be equal to each other. The Village Engineer shall classify streets or parts of streets as major, secondary or lanes in accordance with traffic requirements.
      (2)   Roadway widths of such classes shall be as follows:
         (a)   Major highways:
            1.   Total width, 80 feet or more, roadway 60 feet;
            2.   Total width less than 80, not less than 75 feet, roadway 56 feet;
            3.   Total width less than 75, not less than 70 feet, roadway 54 feet;
            4.   Total width less than 70, not less than 60 feet, roadway 40 feet; and
            5.   Total width less than 60, not less than 50 feet, roadway 36 feet
         (b)   Secondary streets:
            1.   Total width not less than 66 feet, roadway 40 feet;
            2.   Total width less than 66, not less than 60 feet, roadway 36 feet;
            3.   Total width less than 60, not less than 50 feet, roadway 34 feet;
            4.   Total width less than 50, not less than 40 feet, roadway 27 feet; and
            5.   Total width not less than 40 feet, roadway 24 feet.
         (c)   Lanes:
            1.   Total width less than 40, not less than 30 feet, roadway 20 feet;
            2.   Total width less than 30, not less than 25 feet, roadway 18 feet; and
            3.   Total width less than 25, not less than 20 feet, roadway 16 feet.
   (B)   No street shall be less than 40 feet and no lane shall be less than 20 feet.
   (C)   In the case of proposed streets in new subdivisions, the rules and regulations of the Planning Commission shall apply.
