3.16.010: APPROVAL OF CLAIMS:
It shall be the duty of the council to carefully examine all claims presented against the city, when properly verified, and determine which are valid obligations of the city to be approved and ordered paid, or whether such claim should be referred to the city attorney for defense, approval or denial. (1986 Code)
