1423.02 PURPOSE.
The purpose of the Ohio Residential Building Code for One, Two and Three Family Dwellings, as adopted in Section 1423.01, is to provide minimum requirements to safeguard life, limb, health and the public welfare, and to protect property as it relates to these safeguards by regulating and controlling the design, construction, prefabrication, equipment or appliance installation, quality of materials, use, occupancy, location and repair of detached one-family, two-family or three-family dwellings, not more than three stories in height. Further, the purpose is to standardize requirements by using a compilation of data from national model codes.
