826.24 MEDICAL SUPERVISION AND ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT; MEDICAL REVIEW.
   (a)   The medical care provided in a facility shall be under the direction of a qualified licensed physician.
   (b)   There shall be a designated responsible person in overall administrative charge of a facility who may be the owner, a co-owner or a person employed by the owner to fulfill this responsibility. If qualified, the person may also be the medical director who shall be responsible for the medical direction of the facility as well as for the nonprofessional administrative activities, or a suitably qualified nonmedical administrator may be employed to assume nonprofessional administrative and business management responsibility.
   (c)   The conduct of the work of a facility shall be regularly and frequently reviewed by the appropriate medical staff committee (tissue, medical audit or utilization, medical records) in a hospital-operated facility to ensure maintenance of high standards and quality of care. In other facilities, comparable arrangements acceptable to the Director of the Department of Welfare for impartial medical surveillance and review of the quality of care provided shall be made.
