648.15 WHISTLES, HORNS AND SIRENS.
   (a)   No person shall blow or cause to be blown the steam whistle of any stationary engine or a similar horn or siren as a signal for commencing or suspending work, or for any other purpose, except as specified in division (b) of this section.
   (b)   Nothing in this section shall be construed to forbid the use of steam whistles as alarm signals in the case of fire, collision or other imminent danger, nor the necessary signals by the engines of the Division of Fire or the sirens on emergency or public safety vehicles, nor emergency alarms.

   (c)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor and shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 698.02.
