648.12 HOURS FOR PRODUCING MUSIC; PERMIT.
   (a)   No keeper, proprietor or other person in the interest of such keeper or proprietor or any lessee of any restaurant, coffee house, pool or billiard room, night club, ice skating or roller rink or other similar place where refreshments and/or entertainment are provided for the general public, shall have, permit or suffer therein any vocal or instrumental music or radio or mechanically produced music between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. of the following day on any day of the week without first obtaining a permit therefor from the Mayor. Nothing in this section shall apply to the holder of a valid dance permit.
   (b)   The Mayor shall keep a proper record and duplicate of each permit granted under this section.
   (c)   Any person holding a permit granted under this section shall, upon demand, show the same to any police officer of the City.

   (d)   Whoever violates any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor and shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 698.02.
