642.31 FRAUD IN RELIGIOUS SERVICES.
   (a)   No person, in the promotion of his or her own interests to derive pecuniary benefit, gain or profit for himself or herself, or for any other person, other than a religious association or corporation, shall sell or offer to sell tickets for admittance to or participation in services purporting to be in accordance with the precepts of any recognized religious creed or faith. No person shall make any fraudulent representation as to the nature of the services to be conducted at any place designated as or intended to be a house of worship, the manner in which such services are to be conducted thereat, the facility for worship therein or the persons engaged to conduct such services.

   (b)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor and shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 698.02.
