612.12 ADULTERATION OF LIQUOR.
   (a)   No person, for the purpose of sale, shall adulterate spirituous, alcoholic or malt liquor used or intended for drink or medicinal or mechanical purposes, with cocculus indicius, vitrol, grains of paradise, opium, alum, capsicum, copperas, laurel water, logwood, brazilwood, cochineal, sugar of lead, aloes, glucose, tannic acid or any other substance which is poisonous or injurious to health, or with a substance not a necessary ingredient in the manufacture thereof, or sell, offer or keep for sale liquor so adulterated.
   (b)   In addition to the penalty provided in division (c) of this section, a person convicted of violating this section shall pay all necessary costs and expenses incurred in inspecting and analyzing liquors so adulterated, sold, kept or offered for sale.

   (c)   Whoever violates any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree and shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 698.02.
