406.03 AUTHORITY OF CHIEF; SIGNS AND SIGNALS.
   The Chief of Police or the officer designated in charge of traffic control shall place and maintain a stop or yield sign at each and every street intersection, through street or that portion thereof described and designated as such in this Traffic Code.
   He or she shall, after investigation, determine what portions of the City are within business districts and erect signs so indicating and setting forth the limitations of speeds therein.
   He or she shall place and maintain traffic control devices when and as required under this Traffic Code and may place and maintain such additional traffic control devices as he or she may deem necessary to regulate, guide or warn consistent with this Traffic Code. All signs and signals designated for a particular purpose shall be uniform.
