For purposes of maintaining the public peace by assisting in the amicable resolution of a variety of disputes between two or more parties and relieving the Police Division from repetitively responding to calls involving minor civil matters, there is hereby established a Mediation Program and the following part-time position classifications:
(a) Assistant Law Director/Mediation Coordinator.
(b) Mediator, Class 1.
(c) Mediator, Class 2.
(d) Mediator, Class 3.
Compensation for such positions shall be determined from time to time by Council.
