SECTION 1. QUALIFICATIONS.
   All elective officers shall be qualified electors and residents of the City of Maple Heights, and each member of the Council shall be a resident of the district from which elected. The Mayor and the President of Council shall be elected at large, and the members of the Council from their respective districts. The Mayor and the President of Council shall be qualified electors of the City and shall have resided in the City continuously for a period of at least three (3) years immediately preceding their election, and shall continue to be qualified electors and residents during their terms. Each member of Council shall be a qualified elector of the City, shall have resided continuously in the City for not less than two (2) years next preceding the Councilperson's election, shall have resided continually in the district from which the Councilperson seeks election, for not less than two (2) years next preceding election, and shall continue to be a qualified elector and resident therein during the term of office.
