The City shall be allowed to use the County Jail of Marion County for the confinement of all persons who shall be sentenced to imprisonment under the ordinances of said City; and all persons confined in said County Jail, by virtue hereof, shall be under the charge and custody of the Sheriff of said County, who shall receive, keep and discharge the same in such manner as shall be prescribed by the ordinances of said City, or otherwise according to law.
