3-1-8: LICENSE FEES:
   A.   Clerk/Treasurer To Collect Fees: The town clerk/treasurer shall be charged with the collection of the fees for the licenses required by this title. (1977 Code § 5.04.090)
   B.   Fees:
      1.   Annual Fee: All established places of business operating and doing business within the town limits or the area established by law to be within the licensing area of an incorporated city or town, with the exception of bars, taverns, lounges, or other similar places of business engaged in retailing alcoholic beverages either by the drink or package, and also tent shows, carnivals, or other traveling forms of entertainment, shall pay to the town clerk/treasurer on behalf of the town, a license fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) per annum.
      2.   Franchises: All franchises, including, but not limited to, Northwestern Energy, US West Communications and Montana Rail Link, shall pay a business fee of two hundred dollars ($200.00) per annum.
      3.   Due Date; Penalty:
         a.   Established Businesses: Such license fees for established places of business shall be due and payable January 1 of each year and shall be subject to a penalty of twenty dollars ($20.00) if not paid prior to March 15 of the year due.
         b.   New Businesses: The license fee for a new business is due and payable on the opening of such business and subject to a twenty dollar ($20.00) penalty if not paid within thirty (30) days. The imposition of such penalty shall not relieve the place of business or the owner of such from prosecution. (Ord. 06-011, 10-10-2006)
   C.   Disposition Of Fee Upon Denial Of Application: If the license application shall be denied, the license fee that may have accompanied the application shall be returned to the applicant. (1977 Code § 5.04.100)
