All excavation required for the installation of a building connection shall be open trench work, unless otherwise approved by the Public Works Director. The size, slope, alignment, materials of construction of a building connection, and the methods to be used in excavating, placing of the pipe, jointing, testing and backfilling of the trench, shall all conform to the standard specifications of the Department, the Department's street opening regulations and this chapter.
