It shall be unlawful to shoot or discharge firearms within the city unless necessary or proper for the protection of person or property, except the shooting or discharging of shotguns during the course of bona fide hunting activities more than five hundred (500) feet from any public road or highway and more than five hundred (500) feet from any building, on privately owned property with the permission of the owner thereof.
