GENERAL PROVISIONS
(A) The Madison Lake City Council shall be empowered to regulate weight limits on public highways, streets, and alleys used by vehicles within the City of Madison Lake, Blue Earth County, Minnesota, by posting the same as to weight restrictions.
(B) It is unlawful for any person to stop, park, or leave standing any vehicle upon any street for a continuous period in excess of 24 hours.
(C) When any peace officer finds a vehicle unattended upon any street in violation of division (B) above, the officer is hereby authorized to impound the unlawfully parked vehicle and to provide for the removal thereof and to remove the same to a convenient garage or other facility or place of safety; provided, that if any charge such be placed against the vehicle for cost of removal or storage, or both, by anyone called upon to assist therewith, the same shall be paid prior to removal from the place of storage or safekeeping.

(A) Location of property numbers. Each owner and each occupant of a house or commercial building in the City of Madison Lake shall place their property address number of identification in accordance with the following:
(1) Property numbers of identification shall be placed so to be directly and conveniently visible from public access to the house or building in such manner that the numbers of identification may be easily and clearly seen and read during the hours of darkness as well as daylight from the public street.
(2) Property numbers of identification shall be placed on or above the front door of any house or building if the front door of such house or building is clearly visible from the public right-of-way.
(3) In the case of a house or building located in such manner that the front door of the house or building is not clearly visible from the public right-of-way, property numbers of identification shall be placed near the intersection of the driveway or road serving the house or building at a location clearly visible from the public right-of-way.
(B) Address identification materials.
(1) Address numbers of identification shall be constructed of durable material and shall be of contrasting color to the base to which they are attached.
(2) All property numbers of identification shall be a minimum of 4 inches in height.
(C) Enforcement. It is the duty of the Chief of Police, or his or her designated authority, to enforce this section. The Chief of Police shall give the owner or occupant of any house or building which does not conform with this section 15 days written notice within which to comply with the terms thereof.

STREET IMPROVEMENTS
No person, except an authorized city employee or a contractor performing work under a contract with the city, shall make any excavating in a street, alley, sidewalk, or public ground without first having secured a permit therefore from the City Clerk-Treasurer. The fee for the permit shall be as listed in Ch. 33, Appendix A: Fees, Charges, Licenses and Permits for each location covered by the permit, but no fee shall be required for an excavation made pursuant to a permit for sewer or water construction.

The City Clerk-Treasurer shall prepare the necessary application forms and permits required under this code. The City Clerk-Treasurer shall also prepare the rules and regulations with respect to excavations as he or she finds necessary to protect the public from injury, prevent damage to public or private property, and minimize interference with the public use of streets, alleys, sidewalks, and public grounds. Any person making an excavation covered by this section shall comply with the rules and regulations.
