The Commission for the Handicapped shall have the following duties and activities:
(A) Consult and advise on matters assigned to the Commission by the Mayor or Common Council;
(B) Publicly recognize and commend select organizations or individuals for their contributions to the handicapped;
(C) Promote public awareness about the needs of our handicapped citizens;
(D) Make recommendations to the Mayor as well as advise other city government officials on matters regarding the handicapped; and
(E) Help assure accessibility for handicapped persons to all public buildings, parks, meetings, and other functions or services of the city.
