(A) The Emergency Telephone System Board (ETSB) shall be responsible in the unincorporated area of the county and, upon agreement with any municipality that may request the service, for:
(1) Assigning new house numbers and/or correcting house numbers that do not correspond to the countywide addressing system;
(2) The naming and/or renaming of all streets; and
(3) The provision of street name signs at street intersections, except as cited in the county subdivision ordinance, § 154.072.
(B) Pre-existing street names and house numbers that do not strictly conform with the provisions of this chapter may be retained if, in the judgment of the ETSB, the nonconformance is minor in nature or is of great historical significance to the county and/or its residents, and if the nonconformance does not pose a threat to the public health and safety by causing undue difficulties or delays for 9-1-1 system operations or emergency response.
(C) The ETSB shall cause to be created, and shall maintain, an accurate map of all officially named streets within the county, shall establish address ranges for each segment of each street, and shall record the location of each address assigned along each street. The map(s) shall be the official repository of the street names, address ranges, and address number assignments.
