4-1-3: LICENSE FEES; CLASSIFICATION OF BUSINESSES:
The license fees established for the various trades, businesses, occupations, and employments, shall be as follows:
   A.   Fee Based On Number Of Employees: Where five (5) or more employees are employed, where indicated by an asterisk (*), an additional fee of five dollars ($5.00) per person employed in excess of five (5) shall be added to the annual, weekly, or daily license fee, as the case may be.
   B.   Licensing Of Individual Machines: Where there are individual machines that are required to be licensed, the additional fee shall be as indicated in subsection E of this section. (1965 Code § 4-1-2)
   C.   Fees For Various Classes Of Licenses: The license fees shall be divided into classes and the annual fees for each class shall be as follows:

   D.   Special License Fee Class: There shall be a special license fee class for the following trades, businesses or occupations:
      1.   Filling stations 1 .
      2.   Flammable liquids storage 2 . The license fees shall be as follows:
         a.   For container or containers, tank or tanks in one and the same premises from which liquids listed in section 4-14-5 and/or section 4-14A-1 of this title shall be drawn directly upon the making of such sales of such liquid to purchasers at such filling stations or the storage thereof: Twenty five dollars ($25.00).
         b.   For each portable wheel tank: Twenty five dollars (25.00).
         c.   For each location having a total capacity of tanks or containers not exceeding five thousand (5,000) gallons: Fifty dollars ($50.00).
         d.   For each location having a total capacity of tanks or containers of more than five thousand (5,000) gallons and not exceeding ten thousand (10,000) gallons: Ninety dollars ($90.00).
         e.   For each location having a total capacity of tanks or containers of more than ten thousand (10,000) gallons and not exceeding fifteen thousand (15,000) gallons: One hundred thirty dollars ($130.00).
         f.   For each location having a total capacity of more than fifteen thousand (15,000), at the rate of:
Each one thousand (1,000) gallons, or fraction thereof, in excess of fifteen thousand (15,000) gallons: Fifteen dollars ($15.00).
         g.   License fees shall be paid for total capacity of tanks or containers which shall be used at any time during said year to contain any of the liquids mentioned in section 4-13-5 and/or section 4-13A-1 of this title.
      3.   Food and beverage permit.
         a.   Any trade, business or occupation involving the manufacture, storage, distribution, transportation, or sale of food or beverage will be required to have inspections per the following schedule:
               Class 1. Business in which food is prepared or handled on premises shall be inspected three (3) times per year.
               Class 2. Business in which food is not handled directly, such as gas stations, vending machines, etc., shall be inspected twice per year.
               Class 3. Special events of short duration such as carnivals, festivals and fairs shall be inspected prior to operations. (1965 Code § 4-1-2)
         b.   The cost per each inspection shall be seventy five dollars ($75.00), which will be charged as part of the annual license fee of the business. Any additional follow up inspections as a result of problems with the original inspections or because of customer complaints shall be billed separately at seventy five dollars ($75.00) per inspection.

Surety Bond: All building contractors listed above, except those indicated by a double asterisk (**) shall, before performing any work in the village, provide to the building director a license and permit bond in the sum of $10,000.00 with sureties approved by the corporate authorities, conditioned that the applicant shall well and faithfully observe all the provisions of the building code, zoning regulations and all other codes or regulations of the village relating to the activities engaged in under or by virtue of the authority given in the building permit issued for each job, and that he will pay all costs involved to correct any and all work improperly done to bring it into compliance with all village codes and regulations.
