15.310.03: RESOURCE LAND (RL) ZONE:
   A.   Purpose: The purpose of the RL District is to implement the Lyon County master plan, establish rural areas for the purpose of efficiently using land to conserve forest, mineral and range resources, protect the natural environment, retain open spaces, and preserve open areas for grazing and other agricultural uses for land under private ownership. This is a low density land use district. Unless otherwise specified in this title, no more than one primary residence per parcel is permitted in this land use district.

   F.   Miscellaneous Requirements:
      1.   One dwelling unit per forty (40) gross acres or 1/16 of a section as described by a government land office survey, or per existing parcel at the time of adoption of this title, if less than forty (40) acres or 1/16 of a section. Accessory dwelling units are not permitted.
      2.   Any non-agricultural use on a parcel used primarily for agricultural purposes that is considered to be incidental to the primary agricultural use may be carried out as a secondary use provided the use meets the performance based standards of the use contained in chapter 335 of this title.
