Upon receipt of an appeal satisfying the requirements in the preceding section, the County Manager shall appoint a hearing officer. The fees of the hearing officer, if any, shall be borne by Lyon County. The hearing officer shall adjudicate the matter consistent with this Chapter. In the event the hearing officer determines that a violation of this Chapter or a reprisal or retaliatory action occurred, the hearing officer shall be empowered to issue an order directing: (1) the proper person to desist and refrain from engaging in such a violation or action; (2) the termination of the employment of the proper person; and/or (3) other relief as the hearing officer deems just and appropriate.
